Golden Jubilee Celebration

Sisters Mary Rose Virginie Myaing, Mary Cecilia Nyunt, Mary Monica James celebrated their Golden Jubilee as Good Shepherd religious on the Feast of the Heart of Mary, 8th February, 2017. The Eucharistic Celebration was held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Bo Sun Pet Street, Yangon. The Mass was presided over by the Parish Priest, Fr. Joseph Mg Win and concelebrated by the fifteen priests from different dioceses in Myanmar where the Sisters are currently assigned.
Good Shepherd sisters and Lay Mission Partners, families, relatives, friends, priests, religious, and benefactors – around 270 people – joined the celebration. Lunch was served to everyone after Mass.
In thanking God for the privilege of having been 50 years in religious life, the Jubilarians exclaimed “My soul glorifies the Lord.” (Lk 1:46)
In the evening, a simple dinner party was organized at the convent in honor of the Jubilarians. The Good Shepherd people and the families of the Jubilarians joined the happy occasion.
We, the Good Shepherd sisters in Myanmar are grateful to the Jubilarians for having been joyful witnesses to all, for their faithfulness and unfailing zeal for the Good Shepherd Mission, especially during the time of the refoundation of Good Shepherd Mission in Myanmar in 1973.
May our Shepherd God continue to be the strength and the guide of our dear Jubilarians.
