On 7th December 2018, Sr. Rosaline Lay Khine and Sr. Candida Kay Thi Naing joyfully pronounced their perpetual vows during the Eucharistic Celebration presided by Bishop John Saw Yawhan, the auxiliary Bishop of Yangon Archdiocese, assisted by the Bishop Alexander Pyone Cho of Pyay Diocese and Rev. Fr. Joseph Mg Win at St. John the Baptist’s Catholic Church in Yangon. About twenty priests, a number of religious from different congregations, families, friends, mission partners and benefactors total of 200 people witnessed the occasion. The Eucharistic celebration was followed by a simple lunch.
Celebrating the day before the feast of our Lady’s Immaculate Conception, the two Sisters rightfully chosen “Fiat” as their theme. After many years in initial formation and having had a good time of discernment as Good Shepherd, the Sisters said a definite “yes” today simply trusting in God’s Providence.
The celebration of the final vows is a moving experience not only for the two Sisters but also for the family members, relatives, friends and the whole Good Shepherd people. The two Sisters expressed their love and gratitude to God for the unconditional love they experienced throughout their journey.
The day was concluded by a short ceremony with the dinner party in the convent honoring the two Sisters and their families. It was a moment of love and gratitude to all who journeyed with the two Sisters to reach this day.
May our Shepherd God be their strength and guide, may our Shepherd God grant each of them enough graces to be faithful to their commitment to the Good Shepherd Mission till the end.
